Governmental versus self-regulation of derivative markets: examining the U.S. and Brazilian experience

Article Abstract:

This is a study of financial exchanges as regulated in the United States and of the industry as is self-regulated and with weak governmental intervention as in Brazil. The authors believe governments should focus on mitigating failures of self-regulation rather than placing constraints on financial innovations.

Compensating for innovation: do small firms offer high-powered incentives that lure talent and motivate effort?

Article Abstract:

The theory that smaller organizations are more successful in luring the talent over bigger organizations is examined. The experimental results of the research on a section of R&D engineers in Silicon Valley and the Route 128 sector are presented.
