How Dutch teenagers spend their money

Article Abstract:

Dutch teenagers spend their money primarily on basic commodities such as clothing and food and traveling expenses yet still have extra amount for other luxury items such as cigar and alcohol. From 1984 to 1992, the income of Dutch teenagers has considerably increased coming from all three sources of income. Also, study grants are now given directly to 18-year old students, giving them free reign on their financial accounts. The increased income gave way to increased spending on basic commodities such as clothing and outdoor/recreation activities.

The price of land and the process of expropriation: a game theoretic analysis of the Dutch situation

Article Abstract:

The methods used by the Dutch government to purchase land from farmers for public projects could lead to a bilateral monopoly between the two parties during negotiations. It is shown that laws governing the expropriation of land in The Netherlands provide specific guidelines for negotiations between the government and farmers. A game theoretic analysis model of cases wherein government offers are accepted by farmers is also developed.
