Internet job search and unemployment durations

Article Abstract:

The effects of Internet technology on unemployment are examined. It is found that Internet job search is ineffective in reducing unemployment and is negatively selected as unobservable.

The impact of aggregate employment on cross-sectional distribution of employment gaps is studied. The cost effects of cross sectional distribution are analyzed.
