Obituary: Professor Kernial S. Sandhu, 1929-1992

Article Abstract:

Prof Kernial S. Sandhu was trained as a historical geographer but his work was focused on political economy. He viewed economics not only in terms of market forces but also in terms of institutions and personalities. Sandhu was also committed to making South East Asia an important economic region in the world community and dedicated himself to forming research relationships with other countries. His work with the Assn of South East Asian Nations Economic Research Unit contributed much toward this goal. Sandhu died on Dec 2, 1992.

Obituary

Article Abstract:

John West was an honest, kind and good friend and colleague who was responsible for bringing innovation into the relaunch of the 'Strategy' newsletter. Many members of the Strategic Planning Society were shocked by the new design which nevertheless reminded the society of the inevitability of continuous change and the constant need for dynamism in organizational success. His passing deprives the society of a wise and loyal friend.
