The Grand Relaunching of President Reagan

President Reagan delivered his most confident State of the Union address on January 25, 1984. He emphasized economic progress and the rededication of Americans to traditional values. The federal deficit remains a cause for concern, with Reagan proposing a cut of $100 billion over three years. Foreign policy was given brief attention.

Deficits through the Looking Glass

Article Abstract:

President Regan's 1985 budget emphasizes decreased government spending. Although the administration advocates a balanced budget, its deficits are growing. The budget must have major structual changes to reduce the deficit. A graph and table are given.
