Article Abstract:

The project document management system known as Columbus needs to be improved before it is really usable for the UK construction industry. The software programme was developed for Ove Arup Partnership by its own computing department, Arup Computing. It is available at no cost from the web-site or at 25 pounds sterling for the CD-Rom. Overall Columbus is a useful document repository system. It is not easy to use and getting help proved to be difficult and costly. They do offer training courses at 100 pounds sterling per hour.

The Tacking Behind the Talking

Article Abstract:

Soviet and Chinese diplomats concluded another session of talks in an effort to improve relations between the two countries. Issues which prevent the countries from resuming normal relations are summarized. One Chinese demand, the Vietnamese withdrawal from Kampuchea, may be under consideration in Vietnam. More talks between the Chinese and Russians are scheduled.

Article Abstract:

Politicians and others freely sprinkle their expressions with allusions to the writings of other people. Lines from Shakespeare are often alluded to, but other sources are also popular. Examples include Pres Clinton's allusion to Voltaire's 'the best is the enemy of the good,' at a news conference.
