The effects of social networks on employment and inequality

Article Abstract:

An analysis of employment is furnished. It is observed that greater social contacts tend to improve the chances of finding job opportunities. However, the longer a person remains unemployed the lesser are his or her chances of finding employment. It is also noted that if a person starts with lower employment status, the chances of his or her losing the job will be greater. Labor market is also discussed.
