Citation showdown

Article Abstract:

The three major online citation services, Lexis' Shepard's, Westlaw's KeyCite and Loislaw's GlobalCite are reviewed for speed, accuracy, ease of use and technical support. Based on these criteria, KeyCite stands out for its snappy layout and easy navigational abilities. The service is ideal for law office workers who are not enamored with Internet research. As far as speed is concerned, there is no significant difference between KeyCite and Shepard's. Loislaw is a relative newcomer to the market but its GlobalCite bears watching because, while it still cannot measure up to the two big market players, it is already able to compete.
