A man with the world at his web feat

Article Abstract:

Massachusetts Institute of Technology World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Director Tim Berners-Lee works with more than 300 other members from the information technology (IT) industry on developing standards for the world wide web. Berners-Lee fears any attempt to control the web may cause its destruction. He supports openness and freedom on the web. Berners-Lee first developed the world wide web, which would allow computers to associate freely, in 1991. Initially he managed all difficulties within the web alone, until 1994 when he was approached by members of the IT industry.

The fringe dwellers

Article Abstract:

David Berlinski is one of three academics who have questioned the theories of Darwin and Einstein to the disgust of their fellow scientific community. Novelist and ex-academic mathematician, Berlinksi challenges Darwin's theory of natural selection on the grounds that it is bad science. Similarly, Michael Behe of Lehigh University also questions Darwin's theory in 'Darwin's Black Box'. Howard Hayden of the University of Connecticut has questioned Einstein's theory of relativity.

Survival of the sexiest

Article Abstract:

Recent research has focused on the role of male and female sexual selection in human mate choice. In the past, natural selection was the only accepted model, but a new approach is now being taken. Sex has traditionally not been considered an appropriate subject in psychology, but this new approach is emphasising its role.
