Better get hip, Daddio

Article Abstract:

Academics need to have an understanding of slang words in order to be able to relate to their students. Many slang words, found in the English language today, have originated from black British street slang. Slang often came from the police, criminals or public schools in the past. A study at Kings College, London, England, found almost 2,000 slang words related to being intoxicated by alcohol or drugs. The majority of students are able to omit slang from their work. Many swear words have another meaning when used by the students.

Wit is your best weapon so sharpen it regularly

It is argued that wit is one of the key weapons of those employed in the higher education sector and that it should be used more effectively and deployed more often.
