Broader canvas for art schools

Article Abstract:

Fundraising was a key theme at the European League of Institutes of the Arts (ELIA) 1996 conference. Over 700 heads of European art schools converged to plan fundraising projects via alliances and other initiatives. ELIA's role as a lobbyist has been enhanced by the awarding of a 120,000 Ecu 'thematic network' 9grant by the European Commission for arts education. The grant should simplify the procedure for other European arts institutions to obtain European funding.
