Can Jonny put youngsters in touch with engineering?

Article Abstract:

An examination of how the Engineering and Technology Board is attempting to turn young people on to engineering with a new campaign being run in conjunction with the Association of Science Education, the Institute of Physics and the British Olympic Association. The campaign will aim to engage people aged between 11 to 16 years old by demonstrating the link between engineering, physics and sport and how engineering and physics can be used to improve sporting performance. Examples will include how engineering has helped design sports shoes that help improve the performance of athletes, as well as demonstrating the physical rules that govern things such as the kicks made by soccer or rugby players.

It is and it isn't rocket science

Article Abstract:

An overview of the growing problem of falling numbers of students taking physics at A-level and in university.
