Article Abstract:

Drug dependents must receive considerate care and rehabilitation based on sound scientific research and innovation. Drug dependency, just like any other serious and chronic illness, requires the fullest array of treatment modalities so that patients may be restored back to their normal productive lives and achieve long-term abstinence. Healthcare for drug dependents involves efforts to alleviate their craving and suffering and reduce the severity of their risk from dying of infection and overdose. After all, treating drug dependency may prove beneficial to society in the long run.

A somewhat tongue-in-cheek design for a new pedestrian-oriented Times Square is presented. Some features would be reminiscent of those in Europe's squares, such as the large neon Coca-Cola bottle sign used as the equivalent of Milan's cathedral tower. The New Year's falling ball would be rethought.
