Khartoum embraces the Jihad

Article Abstract:

The civil war in the Sudan has continued for a decade, and the movement of people, particularly the southern Sudanese has adversely affected the education system. The southern Sudanese are suffering from discrimination, as most university level courses are now taught in Arabic, not in English as previously. The government has introduced strict Islamic dress codes for women. Any student wishing to attend college must do some military training. Drinking alcohol and social gatherings and entertainments are forbidden under the Islamic code enforced by the government.

American political scientist and sociologist Seymour Martin Lipset remains convinced of the uniqueness of the US, although this is not always for the better.
