Comprehensive school reform and inclusive schools

Article Abstract:

A brief description of an approach to comprehensive school reform (CSR) that is being used to develop programs that support a diverse range of students including students with disabilities in general educational classroom is given. Results of the analysis of this approach suggest that CSR has the potential to provide teachers and administrators with a framework to develop successful, sustainable inclusive programs.

Peer supports and inclusive education: An underutilized resource

Article Abstract:

The role peers can play in supporting each other in a general educational classroom, which has students with disabilities, is described. Peer tutoring efforts at the secondary level in which students receive elective credit for supporting students with disabilities in general education classes is a useful method and can help immensely in achieving balance in general educational classroom.

The many faces of collaborative planning and teaching

Article Abstract:

The rationale for and documented benefits of collaborative planning and teaching are examined. Results reveal that Teachers collaborating on their planning and teaching are better able to meet the needs of diverse students and fulfill their legal responsibilities and even working with students as collaborative partners is pretty effective.
