An African American journalist talks about the dividing line that separates colored Americans from pure whites. Except for his physical appearance, he believes that by virtue of birth, his upbringing, education, culture and attitudes automatically makes him a true American.

The expansion of NATO has fueled foreign policy debates following the end of the Cold War. However, the emphasis on expansion has shifted attention away from the more important issue of America's new role in maintaining European security after the Cold War.
