Cresting controversy

Article Abstract:

Unconventional Nobel laureate Kary Mullis believes there is no evidence to support the claim that HIV causes Aids and has volunteered to publicly revise his position if researchers can provide him with any proof. He believes the link was devised by the US Center for Disease Control to justify its budget. Mullis believes Aids is more of a social condition than a single disease. Mullis invented the revolutionary polymerase chain reaction technique, but claims to be disinterested in the commercial aspects of science. He also encourages scientists to be more open-minded about astrology.
