Edible ecriture

Article Abstract:

There is a strong link between eating and writing, with both food and writing being a relationship requiring another party. Cooking is a process of transforming raw materials, while writing is the processing of raw speech. Both language and food are necessary for survival, but there are many different forms both of eating and of communication. Eating can be merely a fast food experience or it can combine the social, utility and pleasurable aspects of eating. Similarly, language can be cliched or emotionless, or it can be rich and varied.

Bin Laden sure didn't read any beer mats

Article Abstract:

An analysis of cultural theory and the work done by cultural theorists is made in the light of the publication of the book "After Theory". It is argued that cultural theory is not a timeless phenomenon and in the post-9/11 world the time has come for cultural theorists to give up their focus on topics such as discos and vampires and return to larger ideas.
