First lessons in mind reading

Article Abstract:

It is suggested that improved learning programmes need to be developed to address the requirements of autistic children. Autism was first used to describe a condition in 1943 by Leo Kanner. The term was used to describe children who lived in their own world and who seemed cut off from their social environment. A brief history of how the condition has been tackled to date is included, along with suggestions for the future.
