Glitches in time

Article Abstract:

The concept that time passes in groups of 1,000 years is not linked to time cycles in the solar system, it is only a method of dividing up periods in time devised by humans. Starting the new millennium on Jan. 1, 2000, is not supported by everyone, as technically the year 2000 should be the last in the old century. The rotations and revolutions of the earth are not measured in time precisely therefore it is difficult to make calenders to reflect the inaccuracies. The Gregorian calender was created to resolve the problem of the accumulation of extra days resulting from the Julian calender.
