Growing appeal of the Open road

Article Abstract:

The Open University (OU) recently launched a campaign aimed at recruiting more students in the 18 to 25 year-old age group. The OU is already becoming more popular among younger students, with 11,500 students aged 18 to 25 years in 2003-04, compared with 3,900 students in 1996-97. One reason for the OU's growing popularity could be financial as average cost for an OU degree is around a third of the cost at a conventional university.
