Illegal immigration has become a contentious topic in modern American political discourse and has prompted state laws that discourage the entry of illegal aliens by closing their access to basic services. However, policy attention should be focused more on assimilation rather than on persecution.

Article Abstract:

A revised immigration policy would involve selection of skilled immigrants and match them with employers before immigration. It will limit family reunification and refrain from accommodating all refugees. The new policy will also screen applicants according to their talents prior to immigration.
