Market forces and the charge of the fees brigade: universities should ignore the exchequer and set their own fees

Article Abstract:

Universities in the UK should set their own student fees for courses in the current climate of reduced public spending and falling government subsidies for higher education. Fees should be determined by the market and imposed on a subject-by-subject basis, with each university responsible for its own fee policy, disregarding any government input.

On the march to fight tuition fees

British parents are becoming more involved in choosing the higher education courses taken by their children since the introduction of tuition fees. Many parents attend university open days and some have joined their children on a march, calling for the end of tuition fees.
