Men who juggle campus and Pampers

Article Abstract:

An examination of the number of male academics who take on the role of primary carer in their homes. While women who have tried to balance childcare with an academic career argue that it is an almost impossible task to achieve successfully, anecdotal evidence suggests that for men that try to achieve the same balance the outcome is often very different. Pedro Ferreira, a Royal Society research fellow in astrophysics at Oxford University, states that he has had nothing but support from his colleagues when he had to take over sole care of his son when his wife died, but he acknowledges that the same balancing act seems much harder to pull off for women.
