Festive tests

Article Abstract:

Choosing Christmas fare such as wine and pudding can often be complicated, with many different products available. Some wines which are popular for drinking on their own can be unsuitable for drinking with food, while some can be suitable for both. The best wine in a recent tasting was Hardy's Bankside Shiraz 1993 red wine, followed by Rothbury Estate Chardonnay 1995 white wine. The best Christmas pudding was Tesco Connoisseur Selection with Cognac and Rum, while the best corkscrew was the Brabantia.

Nudes and Tin-Tin

Article Abstract:

A former student of a London art college recalls life their in the late 1970s. He found he was able to continue to make his own versions of any kind of art, as there was no house style and no departmentalisation of painting and sculpture. The college provided freedom to work in various departments, such as film, textile, woodworking and printing, and the self confidence of the college meant that students were encouraged, and their work was taken seriously as a matter of course.
