Proof that a woman's touch can help in global games

Article Abstract:

Madeleine Albright, the first female US secretary of state, believes that while women do face difficulties that their male counterparts do not have to contend with, women do have certain advantages over men in the international diplomacy world. Albright, who is in the process of promoting her book, Madam Secretary: A Memoir, also examines the foreign policy of the George W. Bush administration, arguing that while some of his attitudes towards issues such as terrorism may be correct, the way in which he is dealing with matters, invading Iraq for example, are wrong.

Ear for the death rattle of an empire

Article Abstract:

Emmanuel Todd, French demographer and author of the book "After the Empire: The Breakdown of the American System", defends his stance towards and his opinions about the United States. Todd argues that he is not actually anti-American and that his book simply contends that while America was once a beneficial force in the world, it is now becoming a disorderly factor, and he dismisses accusations that he is simply an archaic French neo-Gaullist.

Alternative kind of guy whips it up in the US

Article Abstract:

A critical analysis of the work of American intellectual Michael Hardt, co-author, with Antonio Negri, of "Empire" and its successor "Multitude". Multitude, the central theme of which is about empire striking back and striking back at empire, is noted as being a book that is unread by a good proportion of those that buy it.
