Shared technology yields two winners

Article Abstract:

The industrial-educational patrnership between Seagate Corp and the Canadian Valley Area Vo-Tech School provides mutual benefits to both parties. Seagate employees can avail of good professional training courses and educational material and facilities. Meanwhile, the school can provide its students with employment, industry contacts and up-to-date technological data through is association with the company. The continuing training courses motivate Seagate employees and increase their technical competence. This, in turn, elevates their work performance to the company's advantage.

Technology initiative a boon for schools

Article Abstract:

The national movement started by Pres Bill Clinton is aimed at making all students technologically literate by the end of the 20th century. This will prepare them for a high-skill and high-wage career of their choice in the Information Age. The plan will be funded by state and local governments and businesses. Federal money will be provided over a span of four years. Telecommunication services will be provided at reduced rates to connect schools to the information superhighway. All persons, including those in need of retraining, will get equal access to advanced technology.

Computer technology is a bargain

Article Abstract:

The Prosser School of Technology, Indiana, has evolved a computer hardware technology program which includes the traditional instruction related to computer hardware and also changing technology. Students learn computer hardware and build at least two computers in the first year, along with computer installation and maintenance. In the second year, students receive training in installing Novell networks and configuring file servers.
