Staff query experience of teaching head

Article Abstract:

Several members of staff at Sussex University's Centre for Science and Technology Policy Research (SPRU) have complained against the appointment of a head of teaching who has no significant teaching experience. They state that collegiality among SPRU teaching faculty is undermined by the appointment, but university officials believe that the process is fair.

Class is allowed to set exam

Article Abstract:

Mike Reddy, senior lecturer at the University of Wales, Newport, has admitted that he allowed students to set their own final-year exam and also to take notes into the test. Reddy allowed the final year students to wrote most of the questions on the paper for a module which forms part of a BA degree in IT and modern languages.
