Taking the bull by the horns

Article Abstract:

The 1994 American Vocational Association's convention and trade show has the school-to-work program as its main topic, with the changes vocational education has to make to survive the new political and social atmosphere being the dominating theme in all conversations. The lectures at the convention focus on issues such as job-oriented education, and integration of academic and vocational education collaboration with industry, skill standards and better marketing techniques. Though many speakers at the convention warned about the new challenges to vocational education, they also discussed methods to counter these problems successfully.
