Why divide and be ruled if we can unite and win?

Article Abstract:

The proposed merger of the Association of University Teachers with lecturers' union Natfhe would create the world's largest tertiary education union. Such an organisation would be stringer at the bargaining table, better placed to defend attacks on working conditions, more effective at influencing the Government and better able to provide a voice for the higher education sector as a whole.
