'You will cash in on a degree' kids told

The first brochure designed to sell higher education to school pupils in the United Kingdom has been published by the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service and The Council for Industry and Higher Education. The publication of the 12-page booklet, titled "The Value of Higher Education", comes as fears rise that the spectre of student debt could combine with doubts about the graduate jobs market to put many off going to university.

Scop revamp sharpens focus

The Standing Conference of Principles (Scop) has relaunched itself in an effort to show that it is still alive after the defection of several prominent institutions which became universities. Scop has represented higher education colleges for 28 years and will now be know as GuildHE.

Marketing a mystery to third of managers

Millions of pounds are being 'misspent' or 'misdirected' on marketing in universities across the country, according to a survey of university managers and executives by Euro RSCG Riley. Over a third of managers have no idea how much monet their university spends on marketing.
