Young galaxies, old child miners

Article Abstract:

The position in the history of art of American women sculptors in 19th-century Rome, and the illegal movement of women between two Mexican towns and a suburb of New York, NY, are two innovative research projects being pursued by PhD students in the UK. Another PhD research project aims to discover whether Bronze Age children worked in one of Europe's largest Bronze Age copper mines, the Great Orme in North Wales. A philosopher's work for a PhD thesis on 'Marriage, contract and the state' has been described as very original.
