Cassiopeia fiva mobile computer

Article Abstract:

Casio Computer Co Ltd introduces its Cassiopeia Fiva mobile computer that comes with a Crusoe processor. With its 21-mm thickness, the A5 computer weighs less than 1 kg and features an 8.4-in SVGA thin-film transistor LCD. The product can operate from 6-9 hrs on a large-capacity, long-life battery, which is sold separately. The CassioPeia Fiva includes an IEEE1394 interface, a Universal Serial Bus interface, a CompactFlash Type II card slot, a Type II PC card slot and a 56 kbps modem.

TeamPad 500 mobile handheld terminal

Article Abstract:

Fujitsu Ltd introduces its TeamPad 500 mobile handheld terminal that features a printer and employs the provided Windows CE operating system. One version of the terminal includes a module that works with NTT DoCoMo's DoPa portable packet network. Each version has an IrDa optical interface and can communicate with a personal computer with an optional optical adapter. The TeamPad 500, which costs $2,091, comes with a color touch- panel LCD with character recognition capabilities.

Mobile terminals drive on in business, personal uses

Article Abstract:

Mobile computer usage are expanding as a result of the latest power-saving mobile CPUs, light-emitting diode displays, thin, rugged, lightweight housings and extended-use batteries. The trend has resulted in the increasing demand for computers with roughly A4, A5 and B5 footprints. Another factor that is driving market interest in mobile computers is the ability of many mobile computers to enable users to gain access to the Internet, office data or telecommunications messages.
