Creative solutions steer Kenwood to new growth in car A/V

Article Abstract:

Kenwood Corp has stepped up the development of its Mask series of car audio systems, which feature high-power amplifiers and improved display illumination. The company hopes these efforts will increase sales of its car audio/video products by 5% in 1999. Kenwood is also incorporating distinguishing features to its amplifiers including automatic open-and- close panels and power slides. The company says there will be no change in its marketing strategies and distribution channels in 1999.

Kenwood's Quality Car Audio Hides Behind Mask System

Article Abstract:

Kenwood Corp's Mask System is the firm's latest attempt at helping prevent the theft of car audio systems. The company, which introduced the pull-out system, has developed the new system as a simpler alternative to other security precautions that also include the security code system and the removable panel system. Kenwood's Mask System, which has received high ratings from consumers, simply projects the appearance of a bare dashboard when the engine is stopped.

Mask Security System Reveals Kenwood's Car Multimedia Skills

Article Abstract:

Kenwood Corp's Mask security system for its car audio equipment is just one of the promising products that resulted from the firm's move to upgrade its offerings. The Japanese company, which hopes to post double- digit sales improvements with its latest efforts, is also introducing a line of MD players in the US in 1998. Kenwood, which will offer the KDC- CPS81 CD changer in 1998, has similarly expanded its line of speakers and subwoofers.
