Customer loyalty low among electricity consumers

Article Abstract:

Most electric consumers in the US are dissatisfied with the quality of service rendered by their utilities, particularly with the price rates they offer. Survey results revealed that although competition among utilities increased in 1997, customer satisfaction has considerably dropped.

The electric utilities are shifting towards online transaction processing in handling out bills, in invoicing and collecting payments. The move enables electric companies to save on paperwork, billing and delivery expenses as well as render better and faster customer service.
