DVD environment diversifies, expands

Article Abstract:

DVD has undergone numerous improvements such as image-adjusting functions, Dolby Digital decoders and Virtual Surround technology, since it was first introduced in 1996. Some DVD models also have karaoke features with duet capabailities that make full use of the equipment's multiple channels. These innovations have also fostered the proliferation of peripheral equipment such as wide-screen TVs and multiple-channel audio equipment for home theater systems. One company is already starting to offer a 2.6GB DVD-RAM that can function as an external memory device for PCs.

DVD-video, DVD-ROM smooth entry of upcoming DVD releases

Article Abstract:

DVD manufacturers have come up with new strategies and new products to rejuvenate the seemingly saturated audio-video market. They have adopted international standard formats, volume and file formats for DVD as well as released new products such as DVD -RAMs and DVD-ROMs. Firms hope that these steps will help accelerate growth and expand the DVD market. Manufacturers have also introduced read-only DVDs and rewritable DVDs in anticipation of the increased demand for high-definition video technologies.

DVD engineers sound out solid technical approach to to DVD-audio

Article Abstract:

DVD engineers have adopted standards and specifications to meet the demand of music artists, studio engineers and audio enthusiasts for advanced music media. They have also focused their synergies into the development of DVDs that possess accelerated speeds and large capacity for music and images. Copyright protection has also been established to prevent illegal copying and pirating of editions.
