Hitachi Maxell enteres fields for IC tags

Article Abstract:

Hitachi Maxell Ltd has unveiled its MY1007 RF ID chip, a move that signified the company's entry into the LSI business for Radio Frequency Identification Cards or IC tags. The company, which used its coil-on-chip fabrication technology to produce the device, is forecasting 15 billion yen in sales of the chips and its related equipment by 2002. Hitachi Maxell is also investing 300 million yen in Kyushu Hitachi Maxell Ltd for a mass production system for the device by spring 2000.

TK15430V 2-line driver ICs from Toko

Article Abstract:

Toko Inc has released a two-line video driver IC that is capable of handling chrominance and luminance separation input, composite output and output to LCDs and S video output. The company's TK15430V, which retails for 300 yen in 1,000-unit orders, consumes minimal power and can switch to external input, standby or full power modes. Toko's video driver IC also feature a composite output terminal that is compatible with signal displays other that those coming from DVD players.

VDSL module chip sets

Article Abstract:

NEC Corp and Texas Instruments have introduced a very high bit-rate digital subscriber line (VDSL) chip set. The VDSL module incorporates a digital interface, a synchronous discrete multiple-tone line code engine, an analog front end and a digital signal processor. It can support up to 26Mbps of downstream and upstream symmetrical transmission with the same bit-rate granularity as asymmetrical systems.
