Article Abstract:

Toshiba Corp has introduced an image recognition LSI that integrates a configurable media processor. A model of the LSI has been customized for an intelligent vehicle system. The media-processor integrates Very Long Instruction Word architecture as an extension support. Various digital signal processors can be formed by integrating a dedicated data path for each application. The media processor contains a 4KB instruction cache, a 4KB data cache and 16KB two-banked scratch pad memory.

PDS420J-H PlasmaVision PC card viewers

Article Abstract:

Fujitsu General has introduced the PDS420J-H PlasmaVision PC Card Viewer, which functions as a control circuit for 42-in wide-screen PlasmaVision displays. Users can insert the PDS420J-H into the displays to directly view still images from PC cards. The PDS420J-H can also accept input such as video, S-video, component and RGB video formats while images can be edited by using a PC Card Utility software. the PDS420J-H comes with a security system to guard against thefts.
