Successful start

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers of high definition (HD) television (TV) believe that consumers' transition to digital TV has become easier with the introduction of a wide variety of HD-ready and integrated sets at more reasonable prices. In addition, they attribute the untroubled shift to HDTV to a wider availability of HD signals and the emergence of display technologies. HDTV manufacturers are optimistic that sales of digital TV will significantly increase in the year 2000.
