Hologram unit

Article Abstract:

Matsushita Electronics Corp has introduced a hologram unit with a thickness of 3.5mm, one of the thinnest such products in the industry. Samples cost $26. The product is for 8x recording on recordable CDs and rewritable CDs. It has a 45 degree micromirror mounted on a silicon substrate. The substrate also supports a semiconductor laser, light- receiving and light-emitting devices and a current-voltage conversion amplifier.

GMC-815ND, GMC-815PD CCD cameras

Article Abstract:

Fujitsy General Ltd of Japan has introduced two new charge coupled device (CCD) cameras in 1999. Both the GMC-815ND and GMC-815PD CCD cameras feature 1/4-in CCDs with 380,000 pixels in NTSC or 440,000 pixels in PAL and an automatic adjustment program for adjusting picture quality. The cameras' other features include an automatic white balance and gamma on- off operation modes.
