Matsushita Battery Industrial Company Ltd of Japan is one of the few battery makers that offer a wide range of battery products. Its product offerings include lead sealed rechargeable, lead storage, air cells, alkaline, manganese, silver oxide and lithium battery models. Matsushita Battery's flagship products continue to be the compact rechargeable Ni-MH and Ni-Cd batteries, the overseas production of which was enhanced as part of its plan to meet current demands.

Internet faxes dial up good results for Matsushita

Matsushita Graphics Communications Systems Ltd's sales of business-use facsimile machines increased for the first half of 1998 partly because of favorable business for Internet faxes in Japan and abroad. The company posted a sales increase despite a double-digit decline in the fax market. The company will introduce new models in 1999, including high-end business and mid-range fax machines, in hopes of maintaining its sales growth.
