Needed: one international standard for circuit breakers

Article Abstract:

The existence of two standards for high-voltage circuit breakers poses a serious problem to electric utilities and electrical equipment manufacturers who want to market their products globally. This underscores the need for one international standard for circuit breaker specifications.

Needed: variable-impedance current-limiting reactors

Current-limiting reactors whose impedance increases when the current achieves fault level have yet to be developed by manufacturers. Devices with magnetic properties and cryogenic devices are possible alternatives.
