Single-chip FSK modem expands your design choices

Advanced Micro Devices has produced a single-chip, multiple-function, frequency-shift-keying voiceband modem. This Am7910 modem consists of transmitter, receiver and interface-control sections. It promises to save space, lower cost, and implement programmable communication capabilities in data terminals amd personal computers.

As 16-bit boards mature, 8-bit designs stand fast

Article Abstract:

With the proliferation of 16-bit microcomputer boards, design engineers must reconsider the advantages and disadvantages of both the 8-bit and 16-bit boards. Some of the factors to take into account are analyzed, particularly from a networking point of view, and new developments in both 8-bit and 16-bit boards are described.
