TDK to establish production engineering center

Article Abstract:

TDK Corp is planning to build a production engineering development center in Apr 2001. The building will most likely be within the TDK Technological Center in Ichikawa, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. As parts of its efforts to shorten lead times, the company wants to cut the time between trial production in Japan and mass production in factories in Southeast Asia or elsewhere. More advanced production technology has become essential for the company.

Production of electronic materials recovers in Japan

Article Abstract:

The recovery of the production of electronic materials in Japan in the 2nd half of 1999 is expected to result in an overall improvement of 4% to 423.433 billion yen for the entire year. The prediction is contained in a report published by the Electronic Material Manufacturers Assn of Japan. Analysts are in agreement that the prospects of the industry continue to be good, particular in the areas of metal materials and piezoelectric ceramics.

Leader's LT 1663 flicker, balance checker

Article Abstract:

Leaders Electronics Corp has launched LT 1663, a flicker and balance checker designed to inspect and adjust flicker on the LCD panel based on on one of the first Bottom Balance Simul-Measurememt System. The device has three sensors for detecting flicker in the center of the LCD panel and a dual point meter for balanacing. Leaders Electronics claims that the use of LT 1663 significantly increases work efficiency and quality.
