Thermistor, varistor markets struggle against inertia

Article Abstract:

Thermistors and varistors' market share will continue to be sluggish due to lack of demand. The demand of appliance and equipment manufacturers to reduce prices of sensors have aggravated the problems of sensor producers. The decision of some thermistor makers to either shut down their production facilities or shift to production of parts for the communication and information industry, may lead to a reorganization of the whole industry.

IMT-2000 spurs changes in measuring equipment

Article Abstract:

Japanese companies that manufacture measuring instruments for the mobile communications industry are racing to develop International Mobile Telecommunications 2000 (IMT-2000) instruments. IMT-2000 services are expected to begin in Mar 2001, which means demand for related instruments could start to emerge by spring 2000. Some industry insiders, however, say the final IMT-2000 specifications may be further delayed.
