Trio of light, power, batteries commands rechargeable market

Article Abstract:

The strong sales of small rechargeable batteries, such as nickel-cadmium (Ni-CD), nickel metal hydride (Ni-MH) and lithium ion batteries are evident from the battery output from Japan. During the first half of 1998, Japan increased production of Ni-MH batteries by 14% and lithium ion batteries by 48%. Japanese production of Ni-CD batteries fell 15%, but this is due to the shift in overseas production by several Japanese firms.
