Versatile data acquisition arrives

Article Abstract:

Storage technology systems during 1996 have gone beyond the basic acquisition of data. Real-time acquisition and processing of information eliminates the need for intermediate storage and, therefore, is used more frequently. Data becomes portable in computer-based data acquisition and the computer is also capable of analyzing this information. In contrast, traditional instrumentation recorders do not offer these benefits.
