Article Abstract:

Earth Day

Article Abstract:

A researcher and manager in the oil industry looks back on a career and on environmentalism with the observation that no oil company employee he ever knew ever wanted to release toxics into the environment or considered that a good thing, although the employees did consider what levels of risk and exposure were acceptable. Phthalates in plastics, MTBE and smoking in public are discussed as they related to Earth Day.
