Bolster your bore-gage knowledge

Article Abstract:

Handheld bore gages have not lost their use as efficient measuring tools in the manufacturing industry. Despite the development of sophisticated bore measuring equipment, handheld bore gages are still used to solve small-bore gaging problems. There are different types and designs of handheld bore gages. The key to obtaining the most accurate measurement data is choosing the right type of bore gage and using it properly. An evaluation of handheld bore gages for different applications is included.

Staying competitive with in-process gaging

Article Abstract:

Manufacturers are enhancing their inspection systems with in-process gages and statistical-process-control data to eliminate rejects and reduce human intervention in the gaging process. One of the firms that adopted the new process is Deere & Co., a farm machinery firm whose turnkey manufacturing cell, built by Superior Tool, has been installed with in-process gaging and a data collection and analysis software program.
