Capacitance transmission cheaper than radio

Article Abstract:

A novel data transmission and paging system has been designed by systems security engineer Howard Stapleton. The new capacitance transmission system is cheaper than radio and is immune to interference. The technology is being trialed at a hotel in Cambridgeshire, England, and has been given the name Cabtrac. The system comprises a unit that injects signals into the mains wiring and small pager units. Potential applications could include car alarms, process plant applications and access control systems. Details of the system are presented.
